What Unreel is
Unreel is a public code repository for a personal AI video streaming service. Its README says a viewer chooses a title and presses play; the service then writes and renders the next shots while earlier clips play. The catalog mixes continuous-take story titles with channels that cut between independently generated gags. The playback chain is initiated by a viewer, rather than presented as a public shared broadcast that runs forever.
The README's quick start asks the operator to install dependencies, supply a service key, build a catalog and start the app locally. It does not name a public demo page. We therefore use the GitHub repository as both the site entry and watch link, and mark stream status on demand with no monitor strategies. A repository HTTP 200 response is evidence that source is reachable, not that a public television channel is on air.
The repository is publicly viewable, but its root file list and GitHub license metadata show no license. We record is_open_source as no until the author grants an open source license. This does not alter the on-demand playback classification.
How the experience flows
- Open the GitHub README to review the experience and local setup instructions.
- Choose a catalog title after running your own instance; generation starts when playback begins.
- Close the session to stop the personal playback flow; no public forever-running broadcast is documented.

Site probe at 2026-10-14T22:04:55.320Z: HTTP 200 (online). Recorded as on demand — Self-hosted viewer-started generation per README; GitHub is the public entry, no public demo named. On-demand editorial status, no public live detector, not a live broadcast.
Available to watch on demand; not a live broadcast.
Website reachability and broadcast status are recorded separately; an HTTP 200 never counts as live. Expired checks degrade to Stale, detector failures to Unverified. Methodology.
Why we track it
Shows how an apparently endless generated channel can be a viewer-started session without being a public LIVE broadcast.
Models behind the output
Not publicly disclosed.

- blendi-remade/unreel README
“Endless television. Written and rendered while you watch.”
README says generation begins after a viewer presses play, documents local quick start, and names no public demo URL. GitHub is the entry and watch link. A personal generated session is on demand, not a shared forever-running broadcast.

GitHub repository metadata has license=null and the root contents API lists no license file; README states no license. Public source visibility alone is not an open-source grant, so is_open_source is no as of this check.
